Metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X is cluster of conditions that includes the following: obesity and fat accumulation around the waist, insulin resistance, high blood pressure or hypertension and abnormal cholesterol levels.
Metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X is closely linked to being overweight or obese and inactivity and includes the following risk factors:
- High blood glucose (sugar)
- Low levels of HDL (“good”) cholesterol in the blood
- High levels of triglycerides in the blood
- Large waist circumference or “apple-shaped” body
- High blood pressure
Patients with Metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X have an increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke and other health problems.
The general occurrence of metabolic syndrome or also known as syndrome X in South Africa, United Kingdom and Unites State of America is between 20% to 42% across all race and genders
Metsyn X is a combination of Myo-Inositol and D-Chiro-Inositol (ratio 40:1) (4g per sachet). The main indication for Metsyn X is for female and male patients suffering from an inositol deficiency associated with metabolic syndrome or syndrome X (in females with or without PCOS). The majority of patients struggle to lose weight due insulin resistance. The role of Metsyn X is to rectify the possible inositol deficiency which is required to normalise their glucose metabolic process at cell level that will result in normal insulin levels and reduction in fat production and weight. The role of Myo-Inositol is that of a secondary messenger and a source to produce D-Chiro-Inositol at cell level. D-Chiro-Inositol is responsible for the production of Glycogen at cell level. By taking both, one rectifies the metabolic imbalances.
Glucose is the body’s natural energy source. Normally, your digestive system breaks down carbohydrates in the food you eat to glucose. People with an Inositol deficiency don’t respond normally to insulin because there is no messenger to convey the message from the insulin on the receptor, across the cell membrane, to the glucose ports, to allow the glucose ports to open. If the glucose ports don’t open, glucose can’t enter the cell and the cell cannot produce energy from the glucose. As a result the glucose goes back into the blood and is then stored as fat.
MetsynX is contains Inositol that is required for the glucose to enter the cell and to normalise glucose metabolism resulting in weight loss.
MetsynX may assist in the prevention of the underlying factors of Metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X which includes obesity and fat accumulation around the waist, high blood pressure or hypertension, insulin resistance and abnormal cholesterol levels.
If this is achieved the patient can potentially avoid the more serious risk factors that accompany Metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X namely type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, fat accumulation in the liver and polycystic ovary syndrome.
